All boys and girls ages 10 to 19 are invited to attend the Navy Water Polo Camp at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland, regardless of water polo experience or ability.
Camp Staff: Campers will train under the direction of some of the nation's top water polo coaches, providing individualized instruction, evaluation, competition, and specialized techniques necessary to refine the athlete's water polo skills. The student/coach ratio is 8 to 1. The 2008 camp staff includes many of the nations top Collegiate, Club and High School Coaches. Mike Schofield, Camp Director is the US Naval Academy head coach that led the Navy Midshipman water polo team to the NCAA final-four in 2003 and 2006.

Eligibility: All campers age 10 to 19 are welcome, regardless of experience or ability. The only requirement is a desire to improve. You'll stay at the US Naval Academy in the Bancroft Hall the midshipmen dorm rooms and dine at the Navy Academy King Hall.

The daily schedule includes playing water polo in the Academy pools and clincs to build skills and new techniques.

Facilities: The Naval Academy pool facilities are among the finest in the country. Included are four indoor 25x20 meter all-deep pools and one shallow pool all with floating goals. For the brief times that you will be out of the water learning strategy and tactics, there are conference classrooms with video projectors.

 

Transportation: Transportation to the US Naval Academy to and from BWI Airport or the Amtrak Train Station at BWI will be provided upon request, free of charge. We are unable to provide transportation from Reagan National or Dulles Airports. All campers arriving at BWI airport will be met at the curb outside the United or Southwest baggage claim area, they are at opposite ends of the BWI terminal. Please schedule flights to arrive between 9am and 5pm on Saturday, or before Noon on Sunday. Return flights from BWI can be scheduled any time after 1pm on Friday.

Navy Water Polo Camp Fees:

  • Resident Campers $585*
  • Day Campers $525*

The resident Camper fee includes a room in Bancroft Hall and meals. Campers should bring their own linens, pillow, towels, and fan. Campers will have the option to eat lunch in downtown Annapolis on Tuesday and Thursday under camp staff supervision.

*TEAM DISCOUNT: for 13 or more players there is a $75 discount per camper. All TEAM DISCOUNT applications must be sent together to qualify. Do not apply on-line for this offer.

Check-in: Sunday, June 22 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the US Naval Academy Stadium.

Session begins: after check-in at 2:00pm in the assigned pool.

Check-out: Friday, June 27 at 11:00am. Schedule flights after 1:00pm Friday June 27.

Session 2: Sunday, July 13, 2008 through Friday, July 18, 2008

Check-in Sunday, July 13 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the US Naval Academy Stadium.

Session begins after check-in at 2:00pm in the assigned pool.

Check-out: Friday, July 18 at 11:00am. Schedule flights after 1:00pm Friday July 18.
Note: Campers traveling long distances may arrive on Saturday at an additional room fee of $30 for saturday night. Meals are not included for early arrival. Early campers can find food at the Dry-dock Restaurant on campus or a variety of places in Annapolis just outside the gate. The first camp meal will be dinner on Sunday.
